History

Thomas Whayman & McCarthy commenced operation in Tasmania in June 1996 with one investigator, supported by a secretarial service.

Since inception Thomas Whayman & McCarthy has expanded to employ factual investigators and surveillance operatives in Tasmania, Victoria, NSW and Queensland.  We also enjoy excellent relationships with service providers in other states and overseas.

 

Our Staff

Our staff members, nationwide, have many years investigative experience. Our investigators were selected and enticed from Police and other investigative authorities because of their:

Terence (Terry) P. McCarthy FAICD

• Member Tasmania Police 21 years, attaining the rank of Senior Sergeant.
• 8 years traffic enforcement duties. Experienced in investigating motor vehicle accidents and breath analysis issues.
• Detective 6 years at Hobart C.I.B., Breaking Squad and Major Crime Team.
• Member of Tasmania Police Negotiators Unit for 12 years. Nationally accredited Counter Terrorism Negotiator.
• Guest speaker for Federal Bureau of Investigation, Baltimore County Police Department and the California Association of Hostage Negotiators.
• Experience project manager and policy writer.

Michael M. Bull

• Insurance claims officer, claims supervisor and investigator for 12 years.
• Extensive in house factual investigation training.
• Experienced in all forms of insurance and commercial investigation.
• Experienced in all facets of surveillance.
• Successfully completed Tasmania Fire Training Fire Investigation Course
